Jaisalmer

Jaisalmer is the place where you must go on a desert safari. This place has many golden dunes and hence it is also known as the Golden City. This city is close to the Thar Desert. You must not miss out on taking a camel ride. This is also one of the best places where you can camp with your family and friends at night. Jaisalmer has many other places of tourist attraction like lakes, temples, castles etc.

Close to this city are the Khuri sand dunes which are truly wonderful. The Sam sand dunes which are located close to Khuri are famous for camel safari. The camel ride experience and watching the sun-set into the sands is simply magnificent.

Bikaner

This dessert is famous for its camel festival. This is a place where you will get glimpses of Havelis and the wonderful era of Rajputs. When in Bikaner you must visit the Junagarh fort, Karni Mata mandir and Lalgarh Palace.

Khimsar

This is the sand dune village and its Nagaur festival is very famous. This village is located at the edge of the Thar Desert. When you come to Khimsar you must visit the Khimsar fort. Many leisure activities are carried out over here. This includes camel safari, camping, performances by local artists. The local artists perform folk dance and sing songs of Rajasthan for the tourists.

Kumbhalgarh

This is one of the well-known deserts in Rajasthan. This place is mainly famous for the Kumbhalgarh wildlife sanctuary. You must also not miss out on visiting the Kumbhalgarh Fort and the Badal Mahal. The Kumbhalgarh fort which is situated close to the foothills of Aravalli hills is magnificent. This is one of the most famous forts of Rajasthan.

This is the Gateway to the Thar Desert. Tourists come here to visit the Mehrangarh Fort. There are many temples and lakes in Jodhpur which are worth visiting. If you like adventure then you can go on a trekking trip when you are in Jodhpur.

Pushkar

The first thing that comes to your mind must be the Pushkar fair. The camel fair of Pushkar is very famous. The only temple of Lord Brahma in the world is located in Pushkar. This temple is a calm place and many Hindu pilgrims visit this temple every year. Pushkar Lake is also worth visiting.

Chittorgarh

This is the city of warriors who were known for their gallantry. This city has a rich heritage. There are several stories of heroism and patriotism associated with this city. This city was the capital of Mewar and you will find several forts in this city. Places that you must visit are the Chittorgarh fort, Vijay Stambh and Maha Sati.

Bundi

This place is in the Hadoti region. The Moti Mahal of Bundi and the Badal Mahal of Bundi are worth visiting. You must also go to the Taragarh fort.

The summers are very hot and hence it is better to avoid the summer months. The best time to visit Rajasthan is in the winters. Ideal time will be between October and March. During this season the climate is cool and pleasant and you will have a wonderful time.

Rajasthan is the land of palaces, deserts and warriors. This is an amazing State which has a major portion of the Thar Desert and the cool hill station that is Mount Abu. This is surely one State that you must visit.
