History Of Bengaluru

Bengaluru's earliest evidence comes out of the 9th century, but modern Bengaluru was founded by Kemp Gowda I (1510-1570), a Feudatory of the Vijayanagara Empire who built a fortress in 1537 and 4 guard towers to mark the borders of the town of Bengaluru. Still preserved and visible, these towers are deep in the center of the town which has significantly expanded. A few years before joining the Kingdom of Mysore in 1689, the city was passed in and out of local princely hands. In 1759, it was ruled by a soldier who stood out in the Mysore army and became the de facto ruler of this great province. The next Kings were Hyder Ali and his sultan Tipu, the Mysore Tigers.

The renowned Bengaluru environment is influenced by the establishment of the renowned Military Cantonment, a city-town 13 km near Bangalore's historical town. Not only did it become a military base for Britain, but a large number of Europeans, British Indians, and missionaries settled in it. In 2006, Bengaluru was officially renamed, even though the ancient name was still widely used. Bengaluru International Airport Kempgowda opened in 2008 to replace an older Indian airport east of the city center, approximately 25 miles (40 km) northeast of central Bengaluru. The town has a rather large public bus system, which allows easy access to taxis and rickshaws.

There are various sports stadiums and governing bodies in Bengaluru. The M. Chinnaswamy Stadium of India National Cricket Academy is located in the city, hosting domestic cricket and international matches. The city has proudly hosted international tennis matches and also accommodates the Bangalore Rugby Club and a domestic football (soccer) stadium. The Arkavati and Kanva Rivers, tributaries of the Kaveri River, drain the surrounding area. The principal plants are millet and oleaginous, with the grazing of livestock and sheep. Furthermore, the great number of mines all around the city support granite exports.

Culture of Bengaluru

Bengaluru is characterized by numerous musical bards that have played a key part in both Indian and Hindustani classical music. In Karnataka, there are several excellent musical figures: Purandara Dasa, the father of Carnatic Music, Tyagraja, Kalakkad Subbiah, Ramanarajanan Iyer, Nithyasree Mahadevan, Gingger Shankar, Gangubai Hangal and Basavaraj Rajguru. The City is famous for its great musicians, veterans, and upcoming talents.

Vidhana Soudha

The Karnataka state legislature is made of granite buildings from 1951 to 1956. Built-in Dravidian style, the building consists of richly gravure foundations and caps for pillars, deep friezes, kapotha cornices, and chaithya arches; at the same time, it was built in modern designs using the materials of our days, like steel, and reinforced cement concrete glass, plastic, etc. The building is designed to be used in a very modern manner.

Vikasa Soudha

Can a lily be gilded? Well, you are the judge. This modern building is built in the same classic style and is adjacent to the majestic Vidhana Soudha. It was opened in February 2005.

Cubbon Park

It is an extraordinary structure built of red sandstone in the Seshadri Iyer Memorial. It contains a public library, the High Court in Bangalore, a playground, a theme park, and a theatre for children.

Bangalore Palace

The Maharajahs of Mysore built Bangalore Palace. The building has been neglected for many years but is now open to the public. It's a fine structure to visit after a lot of renovations. This includes a very good audio guide that describes in detail most architectures and devices.

The Bull Temple

It is a typical Dravidian temple located in Basavanagudi. The bull statue was sculpted from a single block. According to legend, the temple was constructed to please a bull that had been ravaging the crops. Once constructed the bull subsequently left the area. Local farmers have since organized an annual festival to thank them.

Temple of the Maha Bodhi Society

It is a relatively new settlement and was built as a replica of Bodh Gaya's historical stupa. The temple site is peaceful and visitors can walk around. The temple offers a collection of Buddhist books in its library.

ISKCON Hare Krishna Temple

The temple is a perfect blend of contemporary technology and spiritual harmony. This iconic temple promotes spiritual education and Vedic culture. Side-by-side, many shops sell devotional objects and souvenirs for tourists. Thousands participate in the annual Krishna and Balarama Rath Yatra.

Maruthi Mandir

It is located on the opposite side of the church at the gate of Mahalakshmi Layout, 5 min drive away from Temple ISKCON. Enormous idols of Hanuman and Mahalakshmi can be found on this rock hill. The Hanuman Jayanthi annual festival is extremely attractive during December.

Shiva Temple

It is located near Old Airport Road. Lord Shiva, situated in the center of an artefact pool, is a massive monolith. Behind the statue is a cave-like walk. The festival of Maha Shivaratri is extremely crowded.

Temple of Kalyan Nagar

It has a lovely 60-feet-high Ganesha statue. Babusapalya Dodda Ganesha Temple is located on the external ring street at Babusapalya. Temples of Lord Shiva, Annapoorneshwari, and Swamy Subromanya are dedicated to Lord Ganesha in particular. The annual Ganesha Chaturthi celebrations attract large people to the temple.

Ragi Gudda

In the 9th block of Jayanagar, South of Bangalore, Gudda is a famous Hanuman temple residence. The temple is located on a rocky hill and is very appealingly linked to temples such as Spathika Shiva, and Ganesha, and the surroundings within the building.

Sri Raja Rajeshwari Temple

It is in Raja Rajeshwari Nagar a famous temple devoted to the goddess Parvathi just before Kengeri on the road to Mysore (RajaRajeshwari). It was made by Sri Sri Sri Tiruchi Mahaswaigal, a renowned spiritual guru. The temple is very spacious and built in the ancient style with stones. When you visit, you can feel peace and happiness. DakshinaMukhy Nandeeshwara

Temple lies in the very heart of the ancient temple of Bangalore. This is in the Malleshwaram area on Sampige Road. The temple's main interest is that natural water flows from Nandi's mouth over ShivaLingam, and is eaten as Abhishekam year-round.
